“We are a very busy couple,” Esther said. “Our jobs take up a lot of time. We have two kids. It feels like we’re always on the go. Making the time for the two of us to be together as a couple sounds great – but how do you actually make that happen?”
Her husband Luis nodded. “You can’t always just ‘get away for the weekend’. Who is going to watch the kids?”
“But we do need that time,” Esther said. “That romance. My best friend had her basement remodeled and created a home theater in that space. I was talking to Luis and said, “Why can’t we turn our basement into a private love nest?”
“I figured it wouldn’t be too complicated if we could find a good Boston finished basement company to do the work,” Luis said. “Our basement was pretty basic – cement block walls, an poured concrete floor. A very utilitarian space.”
“The neat thing about working with the finished basement company‘s designer is that we came away with more than we even asked for,” Esther said. “We talked about the different wall and flooring options to start with. Then we talked about storage. It turns out we had enough space to do everything we wanted and then some!”
“Having our own little private getaway has been great,” Luis said. “We can sneak away for an evening away from it all. The kids are safely asleep upstairs, and we have this quiet space just to enjoy being together. We don’t have to make reservations or get a sitter or worry about all the hassles that come with getting out of town. Our time is ours, just to have fun.”
